Putting Some Pop on Hilton Head Homes

If you’re a Hilton Head homeowner, you already know the deal with exterior paint colors. Between the POAs and arb boards, most of us end up surrounded by soft grays, beiges, and those dependable sage greens. They’re peaceful — fitting right in with the mossy oaks and longleaf pines.
Still, every house needs a little something that feels like you. And your front door is often one of the places you can show some personality without running afoul of the rules. It’s a small space with a lot of presence. A deeper color there can change the whole feel of a home without upsetting the balance the neighborhood wants to keep.
Lately, we’ve been using rich blues and reds that fit right in under the Lowcountry shade but still stand out against all those grays and taupes.

Popular Blues

Naval (SW 6244)
A deep navy with a gray-green undertone. It’s calm but strong — a classic color that feels right at home here.

Salty Dog (SW 9177)
A rich, confident blue with a touch more brightness. Think of it as coastal without being beachy.

Seaworthy (SW 7620)
Dark and moody with a bit of teal mixed in. Feels like deep water on a cloudy day.
Popular Reds

Cajun Red (SW 0008)
A warm, brick-inspired red that feels timeless against white trim. A natural fit for Lowcountry homes.

Bolero (SW 7600)
A bold, earthy red with a little spice in it. Adds warmth and depth without stealing the show.

Stolen Kiss (SW 7586)
A softer red with brown undertones. Just enough color to make a door stand out without breaking the neighborhood rules.
If your home looks too much like your neighbor’s, check with your POA or arb board. (Your neighborhood might have rules about door colors.) At Daygig Painting, we’ve helped a lot of Hilton Head homes find their pop — and it’s amazing how a small change can make a place feel new again.
Thank you!
